I will apologise right from the start….there are LOTS and LOTS of pictures in this post. I hope you don’t mind!

After an amazing wedding day we were off to the all-inclusive Sandals Grande Antigua Resort for our honeymoon. If your wedding day isn’t one of the most emotionally satisfying days of your life…well….you might have a problem. I will break down our stay, even though this is NOT my video, this is a great video that describes Sandals Grande Antigua perfectly! Sandal Resorts feature the world’s most comprehensive all-inclusive package where couples can enjoy gorgeous beaches, 5-star gourmet dining, amazing upscale accommodations, all you can eat and drink, and exciting water sports. Most importantly is the romance! I tell people all the time, if you can’t get romantic at a Sandal’s then you need to check your heartbeat. Sandals is an adults only resort and knows how to make romance come alive. Sandals are great for honeymoons, anniversaires, just because, or light the fire! This Sandals has been voted “World’s Most Romantic Resort” 14 years in a row.

We stayed in what is called a Rondoval. The exotic rondoval with is 1,400 square foot Mediterranean villa with private plunge pool and butler service on the Mediterranean Side of the resort. The resort has two different sides. The Mediterranean side has a european flare and the other side is called the Carribean side. We chose that room level because it was our honeymoon and finding each other later in life and the depth of our relationship we wanted to celebrate at the highest level we could. We usually aren’t up for having a butler at our fingertips and we didn’t utilize our butlers as much as we could have, but that level of service was amazing.

The resort itself is simply amazing. Well manicured is an understatement. The beach is beautiful and they “rake” the beach every morning. This resort really is two in one…so there is plenty of things to see and do. Nightly entertainment, daytime activities at the main pool, a full spa (yes we had a couples massage…HIGHLY recommend!!!), plenty of water sports like scuba or sailing with a hobie cat, and plenty of excursions for an additional cost. Sandals Grande Antigua Resort houses the East Caribbean’s largest pool (1 of 6), offers 9 dining options and 8 bars including an English pub. We were fortunate enough to book four excursions…

1. Tropical Adventures – Mystic Catamaran (sailing in a relaxed atmosphere that included lunch and a snorkel tour)
2. Shirley Heights Sunday Extravaganza (breathtaking views from atop Shirley Heights Lookout, watch the sun set into the sea, views of English Harbor and Galleon Beach down below, dance under the stars while listening to a local band, and have a tasty barbecue dinner)
3. Catamaran Sailing around the entire island of Antigua and into the English Harbor.
4. Horseback riding…take your horse into the sea!

There is no reason to get bored on or off the resort. This is a great way to connect as a couple or re-connect!
